I recently got a Krups espresso machine from my boyfriend’s grandfather. He actually had four of these machines, so he gave me one. I was a bit nervous to use it at first, because it seemed a lot more complicated than my simple Keurig. However, this Krups machine makes the best cup of coffee I have ever had! I highly recommend this machine. It is perfect for when you just need one cup of coffee and not an entire pot!

If you are addicted to caffeine like I am, you need coffee in the morning to wake you up. This espresso machine will do just that! I am going to teach you how to make the perfect cup of coffee.

Things You Will Need:

-Krups Espresso Machine

-Coffee Beans

-Coffee Grinder

-Water

-Half and Half (or Other Desired Milk)

-Sugar, if desired

-Coffee Mug

Step 1: Choose a Mug

I personally love coffee mugs. They have so much character. I love getting mugs from places I have traveled. If you are as into coffee mugs as I am, you know that choosing the perfect mug is vital to having the perfect cup of coffee.

Step 2: Grind Coffee and Place in Machine

After you have chosen your mug, now it is time to grind your coffee. If you don’t have a coffee grinder, you can always buy coffee that is already ground. However, I recommend grinding your coffee every day because it tastes much fresher.

You can choose to make half the pot or the whole pot of coffee. I usually do the entire pot because it fills up a mug nicely. Use about a handful of coffee beans for the entire pot. Place the beans in the grinder and press down on the button until they are ground fully.

Then, place the coffee grounds into this device that filters the coffee. Connect the filter device to the machine with the handle facing left and rotate it counterclockwise until it locks.

Step 3: Add Water

Fill up the coffee pot with water to the “4” mark, indicating that you are making the whole pot of coffee. If you are making half a pot, fill the water up to the "2" line. Personally, I just use tap water from the sink when making coffee. You can use filtered water if you prefer.

Unscrew the lid from the top of the coffee machine and pour the water in. Don’t forget to put the lid back on before you start the machine!

Step 4: Turn On and Wait for Coffee to Brew

Now, it is time to brew! Place the pot under the filter. Switch the red button on the bottom of the machine to “on,” and wait for the coffee to brew. This usually takes about a minute.

Step 6: Steam Milk

One of my favorite parts about this machine is that it has a steam nozzle to steam milk. Place milk or half in half in a small cup.

Submerse the tip of the nozzle in the milk and rotate the side lever counterclockwise to produce steam. Rotate the cup with the milk around as the steam comes out so that it gets frothy. Make sure you clean the steam nozzle once you finish your coffee!

Step 7: Combine Milk and Coffee in Mug

Next, combine the milk and coffee in your coffee mug. Add sugar or flavoring if desired. Health tip: only use raw sugar. Do not use artificial sweeteners because they are not actually healthy! Don't be fooled by low-calorie alternatives to sugar. Real sugar is the most tasty and healthy way to go.

Step 8: Enjoy!

Lastly, let your coffee cool a bit (so you don't burn your tongue). Then, enjoy your hand-crafted cup of coffee!
